Gulf Shore Steve got a reaction from bucsgrrl in Schiano Decides maybe Revis Should Play Man
I'm not a bury the coach for every little perceived slight but why Sheridan didn't take advantage of the opportunity to build even a small amount of goodwill between the team and fans is mindboggling. He should have had a Dunkin Donuts truck there within five minutes of walking in the door.

So Schiano has snook writing his lines for him now.

If he starts talking about pop, flashing, pipes and pegs we'll know for sure.

Unless the Freeman peeps have specific proof the Bucs put the information out there, this ain't going anywhere.

The Bucs used Meredith as a Tackle eligible on Sunday to great effectiveness. They don't need another pass blocking TE. A guy who can get open and catch a pass would help.

This issue at that point becomes Glennon and not Freeman. I doubt they want to send Glennon out there with only a couple of days' practice for Glennon's sake.

They also would likely have media shitstorm to deal with which may be best dealt with over a week's period than that of a day or two.

If said studs come down with the 4 throws they should have, we're probably having a different discussion.

I don't even know the Bucs preseason record. That's not the issue. It's the issues from last season which remain issues which are concerning. I'm less concerned about the offense than some. I think they'll score. I'm not sure the defense is markedly better at this point. It could be. It hasn't shown that. By the same token, the offense also could have regressed.....and would be particularly concerning if there aren't some sustained drives. One reason I don't like the offensive philosophy is that it appears to lead to too many quick exits from the field. The Giants with a similar offense have some of the same tendencies. They just happen to have a QB who's from the first family of NFL QBs. He has problems getting together with his receivers as well.

Trends. No pass rush is a continuance of the recent past. The lack of coverage skills displayed by the Mike LBer is a continuance of the recent past. The Safeties staring at each other in a "who the fuck had him?" is a continuance of last year's secondary. The belief that the team can run 20 yard routes with little or no option underneath and get the protection required to execute those plays with any level of consistency is a continuance of last year's late season offense. Josh Freeman's inability to make relatively easy throws on top of his inability to comfortably move in the pocket is a continuance of a number of years of frustration for Bucs fans. The Bucs inability to keep a number of players on the field is a continuance of the recent past.

While it is "just preseason", all of these issues have been reconfirmed to this point and have shown little evidence they are going to change.

Specific to the QB....the Buzzard didn't look all that great last night himself. Maybe a few snaps with the first team might have helped him. I will maintain that should the Bucs have to go to him, they are very likely looking at a season which will turn out poorly, cost Dominik his job and, at the very least, put the coaching staff on the hot seat for year 3.
