It's going to be Arians

I wonder if the Richard interview could also have a dual purpose. If not for HC it could be for DC/asst HC type of position.

The one concern with Arians is that you might only have him for a couple of seasons. Might not be a bad idea to have someone on staff that can be groomed for a few years down the road.

Former Husker QB Zac Taylor has been connected to some of these jobs. He would be an exceptional OC and HC in waiting.

Finally, something that I can agree with you on.

Yep. Bright future ahead of him. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets the job in Denver.

He easily could. He was briefly signed with the Bucs when he went undrafted. It would be cool to see him back here grooming Jameis as OC and eventually head coach. He was a hell of a leader for the Huskers during a rough time. So I have fond memories of what a classy guy he is.

There isn’t a college coach mentioned in this thread.

Tundra just stated a preference.   There's not anything wrong with that, and it's a solid step up from the goat/llama thing he's had for a while.

There was another show like Hard Knocks that aired a while back. . . one year it was the AZCards with Arians as coach.

One the first day of camp he addressed the team with the teams goal for the season - probably summed it up the best I have ever heard.
Arians said "We have one goal, a superbowl ring."
I hope he brings that attitude here if we sign him

Yep. Remember that well when we signed him. Sam Keller too had a brief stint during training camp. Taylor has a chance to be the next McVay.

All or Nothing is the name of the show. I saw some of those episodes but can't figure out how to sneak into them now as amazon is holding them hostage.

I don't think that last note is any great revelation. I've read that with a number of coaches and it likely was part of Koetter's plan as well.

The hesitation with Arians....who's worst season as a HC was 7-8-1....is his age and health and how that ties into whether he's motivated to do the job completely. I'm concerned about that over a young pup who may not have the same resume but is more willing to do whatever it takes to win whether it is successful or not.

I think we're reading that same opinion across this board whether it is verbalized in that fashion or not.

The only difference is Arians has had success while Koetter was a complete joke of a coach.
My point was to show the difference between a real coach and someone more suited to be a coord.
While you may be right that Koetter used a similar approach the difference in the outcome is pretty easy to see.

Kirby Smart?

Interesting that the Bucs hired a search firm but seem to be on a different track with regards to interviews, etc..

Wonder if they're not simply throwing names out there to avoid pissed off fans if Arians has a late change of heart.

They probably want his brain dump on Jake Fromm, just in case.
