Stroud also revealed that Grimes was benched in the Bears game at halftime for talking on his cell phone. I would have benched him and the entire secondary for allowed the Bears to score 38 points at half.

Does it sound like Koetter maybe tried, but the inmates were running the prison?

Interesting that the secondary with a bunch of rookies and UDFAs seemed to play much better after Duffner took over. Not that it was great but it was better....and precarious. As soon as Carlton Davis went out in the Atlanta game and Ryan Smith took over, the secondary fell apart.

As to Grimes....it was inevitable that as soon as his stay with the Bucs was in jeopardy, the Miko social media factor would kick in.

Grimes is a bigger indictment on Licht than Koetter. The Bucs should never have been in position to have to play him. He shouldn't have been re-signed. The writing was on the wall in 2017 that his best days were well behind him. And, yet. Licht brought him back.

How is it Licht still has a job as GM is beyond me. At least Dirk lead a top-notch NFL offense this year & he still got shitcanned.

From Rick Stroud- So Brent Grimes said on his wife’s podcast he didn’t want to play because they asked him to shadow Antonio Brown and other top WRs and he only made $7-million while CBs who shadow make $14M. And you wonder why #GoBucs lost? Not one coach/GM held him accountable

Its easier for Grimes to say he was underpaid than to just admit he's not good enough to guard elite NFL receivers.

Grimes was "disrespected," as the highest paid CB on the roster, when asked to cover their best receiver. Fuckin Glazers should have guaranteed him an extra mil for every pass defensed.

But at least these Bucs are in the national news. The tardlets must be creaming in their briefs.

We picked him up as a free agent, and it isn't like there was a line of teams trying to sign him for 12 million.  He was signed for fair market value unless the Bucs were his first choice.  I mean maybe he turned down a $14 million dollar deal from the Patriots when they outbid the Eagles measly $13 mill a year deal.

Maybe the diss he felt was that by playing him against elite WRs, he wouldn't be offered the 5-7 million/yr contact he would normally get when playing against average WRs.  His flaws would be exposed and no one would want him.

No one will touch him with his wife airing dirty laundry, and him quitting on a team.  It's not like a perennial playoff team isn't going to have players step up if their #1 guy goes down.  Insane.  Who knows...maybe he has some "Jew buddies"

This is the part I dont understand
"Grimes revealed that he was feuding with Hoke all year for the way Hoke was asking him to play the run. Grimes said he was always taught that his job when playing running backs who bounced to the outside was to make them cut inside and another player would be responsible for tackling. Hoke was now telling him to run straight to the edge."

Someone else would make the tackle so he didnt have to do it??????

Sort of. CB's initial responsibility to to make sure the play turns inside. Then it is to make the tackle.
