Aaron Hernandez, Dead @ 27_ Suicide

Recommended Posts

Me too, Samurai. But considering he had a good fifty plus years of incarceration to look forward too and probably knew he was marked, well, there ya go.

What a waste of a promising talent and life.

I'm guessin' that his lawyers were truthful with him about the chances for a re-trial on his original murder conviction was about nil.

I feel about this news like I did on the day of Ted Bundys execution. When informed of this good news from earlier in the day, I was at happy hour at the local pub after getting off work at the track. I bought a round for the house.

I was in school in Gainesville when Bundy was executed just up the road in Starke. The day before was like a carnival atmosphere in town. I was driving on the main drag by campus and there was old pickup truck beside me with the cutest little old couple in it. I was held up by traffic in my lane and they moved in front, and I saw a sign in the back window of the cab that said "burn in hell Ted". A bunch of us drove up in a van the next morning to watch the crazies outside the prison, and everyone cheered when the lights suddenly went out. We thought it was because they had turned on the juice, but we found out later that they were just switching to the diesel generator that actually powers the chair. I miss old Sparky.

At this point I'm a little skeptical on the suicide angle. Known affiliate of gangs, gets acquitted on two murders and is found dead 5 days later. Makes me wonder. Maybe it is suicide and maybe it isn't and it probably doesn't matter but the story did change from how it is being reported from an early "suicide" to "found hanging".

A report says he had his own cell. The cells were locked because it was bed time. If it wasn't suicide, the prison guards must of had something to do it, which is quite common in prison.

On the other hand, Hernandez was easily agitated throughout his life, and again during his participation in the murders he was just aquitted for (spilt drink). So failing to keep his cool in order to prevent his own suicide shouldn't be so easy to dismiss either.

Either way, it ended in a display of God's justice in my opinion.

Never been to jail I see.

I read a bit.

Not sure what you mean exactly, but to clarify what was quoted: if it wasn't suicide, a guard either let another inmate(s) into his cell, or the guards did it themselves. So either way a guard would have been responsible.

I have been to BucsChat jail. Some of the guards they had were bad. Rene Gnam tried to rape me.
