I'd rather spend a fifth rounder on a new guy in the draft if the coaching staff had to develop both of them. I'd really rather not carry a Top Ten contract for a guy who needs a bunch of work.

Well, you've finally done it. By far, the dumbest shabazz thread ever. Congrats.

I suppose he would be worth a shot if he were cut, but I can't see the Bucs giving up a draft pick for him.

Heyward-Bey was an Al Davis pick. Otherwise, he would have been a 3rd or 4th round selection. All speed and nothing else. The best he can do is run out-routes and take the safety with him, opening up the field for others. But his hands are so bad that defenses are likely to take their chances and let him roam free.

Al Davis' criteria for draft picks is who has the fastest time in the 40.

Heyward-Bay won't be worth a 5th round for many more years just because he happened to be drafted in the 1st. for a 5th? I'd see if we could get a private work-out first and see if we think he's coachable. if he can't be taught how to catch or run routes, I wouldn't even touch him.

Oh and renegotiating he contract would be non-negotiable.
