    Bucs Fall to 0-4

(SBL) September 29, 2013 - In a storyline that seems like a record with a skip in it, the Bucs found themselves ahead in the 4th quarter only to let the game get away from them in the last 6 minutes. Tampa struggled to get a running game going and never developed a real rhythm in the second half, and the Cards simply hung on and capitalized on mistakes, taking the victory 13-10. Tampa, who led 10-0 at the half never got any offense going, as Mike Glennon, who provided 125 Yards, 1TD and no INT in the first half, looked out of sync post the half time break, generating 73 yards and 2 INTs in the second half. The run game also failed to materialize, leaving Tampa open for a Cardinals offense that played only marginally better. Tampa's 0-4 start is likely to contribute to continued turmoil in Tampa. With Freeman out of the lineup and inactive today, fans will be unable to allocate blame to QB play, and coach Schiano may find himself on the coaching hot seat. Click here to view the article

  3. (SBL) September 29, 2013 - It took one half for Mike Glennon and a few good throws for Tampa to develop a passing game. Tampa, who's air attack has been absolutely stifled found themselves throwing effectively in the first half, netting the same number of yards as Freeman on 9/15 versus New Orleans. Tampa hopes this new found passing game will open lanes for Doug Martin, who has faced defenses who haven't had to guard against Tampa's passing game, leaving him to struggle for yards. Tampa closed the half with the lead, 10-0, and Glennon carrying the highest passer rating for a half this season in Tampa. Click here to view the article

    Bucs fall to 0-3

(SBL) September 22, 2013 - The Bucs found themselves on the wrong end of the scoreboard again this weekend, falling 23-3. Plagued by a kicking game that didn't produce and an offense that continued to stall rather then put up points, Tampa simply couldn't hold the Patriots offense off the scoreboard. Adding insult to injury, LaGerrette Blount put up 65 yards on 14 carries putting in a rushing performance that marked his best game since 2011. Tampa Bay comes home next week to play the Arizona Cardinals in a hope to capture a win. Click here to view the article

  9. (SBL) September 15, 2013 - A storm delay in the first quarter wasn't the only indication that the Bucs sloppy play would continue into week two. Tampa Bay continued to look out of sorts on a day where penalty yards (118) and Josh Freeman's passing yards (125) weren't that far apart. Tampa again found themselves with a lead with less then a minute to go and couldn't hold on, as Drew Brees marched the Saints downfield with :59 on the clock after a missed field goal. Doug Martin however picked up his pace, contributing 144 yards on the ground, averaging 5 yards per carry. Tampa next travels to New England face the Patriots. The Patriots will be coming off a long week, having dispatched the NY Jets on Thursday 13-10 hoping to move to 3-0, while Tampa hopes to avoid an 0-3 start, which last occurred under Raheem Morris in 2009 and quickly turned into an 0-7 start, providing the Bucs with the #3 pick the following year, Gerald McCoy. McCoy is credited with a sack and two tackles today. Click here to view the article

  11. (SBL) September 8, 2013 - Tampa Bay thought that a comeback victory was in hand, going up 17-15 with 37 seconds left. But thanks to a 15 yard personal foul penalty to create a 25 yard play, the Jets snatched a victory from the Bucs, walking off the field 18-17. Freeman, who spent a large part of the day rattled by communication problems and an ineffective run game managed to find Jackson with the kind of throw that eluded the quarterback through three quarters. Freeman, who finished the game 15-31 with 1 INT and 1 TD provided a serviceable, but not consistent enough to overcome a day where the Bucs provided the Jets with 102 yards and 13 penalties. Doug Martin finished the day with 24 attempts and 65 yards. Vincent Jackson provided the bulk of the Bucs offense, with a fantasy worthy 154 receiving yards. Tampa (0-1) next faces New Orleans (1-0) at home. Click here to view the article

  13. (SBL) - September 8, 2013 - In a half littered with penalties, miscommunications and confusion, Tampa Bay finds themselves leading the New York Jets 14-12 at the half. Freeman, who went 10-14 with 1 INT and 1 TD and 106 yards started off looking a bit confused. With concerns over radio headset connectivity, Freeman found himself responsible for two quick delay of game penalties in the first quarter, and snap confusion led to an opening lead for New York with a safety. Freeman recovered with the Bucs last drive of the quarter, hitting Mike Williams for 17 yards for a touchdown. Since that score, Tampa has maintained the lead, scoring again on a Doug Martin run, putting them up 13-5, with the point after making it 14-12. After a pair of traded interceptions, the New York Jets worked to establish momentum going into the half, scoring on a wide open pass to K Winslow, pulling to within 2, 14-12 as the teams go into the locker rooms.
