Might not be fans in the stands week 1, but there will be an NFL season that starts on time.
We're still in May and there are 3 months yet to figure out the safest and most logical way to make things work.
Healthy, young athletes have very little risk of serious illness or death, even if they do contract Covid.
Also, treatments will be more known and available in a couple months as well as rapid testing.
Toe meets leather on time opening day.
    Book it twanks!

There's so much data to process and it's not all necessarily recorded uniformly. Dr. Birx and others say we've (the US) been recording fatalities as Covid if they had a positive test even if it's not the actual cause of death. She mentioned others are not doing that. Also there's the unknown number of people who've had mild symptoms and those who remain asymptomatic. They've never been tested of course. Possibly an unusually high number as contagious as this shit is.
So cases may be, or probably are, under reported ...but fatalities may be over reported.
Just an observation. From a message board idiot. Which might rank somewhere near journalist and below expert scientist. There's probably plenty of data on that.

Our morning paper has a 'Sports on TV' listing, and there's great news.  We have a plethora of exciting sports events available on television.  ESPN2 has Korean baseball between the LG Twins and NC Dinos, with an encore showing if you miss the first broadcast.  Then there's the UFC 249 Prelims.  Nothing says 'back to normal' like a couple' roid cases trying to gouge each others eye out.  And finally, the piece de resistance, the Johnsonville Cornhole Championships from Rock Hill, South Carolina.  Can't wait for this one, though I personally thought the championships would be held in a more cornholing-friendly state like West Virginia.  And sadly, this event is pre-recorded, so it won't have all the drama and intensity of live cornholing.

Wow. I never thought I'd miss the supposed actual football talk even if it was nonsense about which school the boob came from or how cool kimonos look on a player.
    Rona 2020!
Glad we start with the Saints and Panthers. There's a win there..

Testing players weekly, if not daily, will be in effect I'm sure.
A 20 or 30 year old healthy athlete has a super low risk of any major health issues even if they should contract Covid. Not much different than playing football in flu season. The biggest difference w Covid amd football (or any sport) is the possibility of exposure to elderly staff members.
I work in medical sales and I'm in and out of multiple doctors offices daily (not at the moment obviously), but I will be back to work in the next few weeks. As will many other people who will be at risk of catching the virus as well. In fact, in talking with a ton of medical professionals who know much more than me, they believe 150-200 million will have had the virus before it's all said and done. They also believe Pfizer or another big Pharma will have a vaccine sometime this fall.
I believe the season will go on as planned. Life will have to go on as well.

I'm leaning toward the latter but with possibly limited or no fan participation.
The show must go on. Some way or another.

I think they'll figure out a way to make it work, even though a few people will get it.  But how the hell will they have any fans in the stadium?  Fortunately, most of the stadiums are already set up to pump fan noise in. .    Of course this all assumes that the corona virus doesn't stay in the body and continue to slowly do damage.  Maybe, they'll just play it through Madden  and call it a day.

Truth is BA and Brady have a 2 year window..Gronk makes them better.
This 5 year rebuild plan we've been watching for over 15 years hasn't worked out so well. So fuck it, playoffs will be fun to watch the next 2 years. Then we can start another 5 year plan.

Come on Sammie..he just needed a great WR or 3, a TE, a great oline and a great RB...and he will be ready to roll.
I'm guessing with all that he can limit his picks to 15-20 and his fumbles to 5.

It doesn't matter where he signs.
The incompetent boob has always had the same problems with his game.
Arians couldn't coach it out of him. Koetter couldn't coach it out of him. Lovie......well, Lovie is Lovie. Bajakian couldn't coach it out of him. Monken couldn't coach it out of him. Leftwich couldn't coach it out of him. Christensen couldn't coach it out of him. Jim Bo couldn't coach it out of him.

He is and always will be a guy that had athletic ability with a ten cent brain.
At this stage in his life/career, he'd be better off giving baseball a try.
He simply doesn't have the head game for NFL QB play.

My favorite piece of the article: "Winston has size, skill, heart and a tremendous work ethic. His one drawback in a uniform was an inability to cut down on errant passes. That, as it turns out, is what New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees excels at. Winston had 30 interceptions in 626 pass attempts last year. Brees has 29 interceptions in his last 1,900 pass attempts going back nearly four full seasons."

Wow, 29 in 1900 pass attempts.  That's really cool.

Tom Brady - 29 ints vs 2196 pass attempts.  Over the last four full seasons. If you actually look at the same span for Brees, he had 32 INTS in 2076 attempts. Neither of those statistics is bad, but the fact that Romano had to cherry pick the stat to make Brees look like some perfect mentor for Winston is laughable.

And to be clear, I'm not in any way advocating for a Winston on the bench scenario.  I think it would've been a smart move for him at the end of the season to approach Licht hat in hand and see what he could work out for a contract, but that's me.  The 30 mil/year ask blew up in his face and made him look stupid as shit, and that probably resulted in a few less offers as well.  Moving to a division rival may have been his only choice, but if he turned down other offers to join a division rival, kid needs to eat a bowl of dicks. Ton of talent and a very low awareness of his own responsibility.  I hate that shit.

I have a great Hugh Green joke for you from John McKay..
Question to Coach McKay- I know you like how Hugh Green played as a rookie but what do you think his biggest weakness as a rookie player?
Coach McKay- That he was not born as an identical twin.

Hugh Green fell to the Bucs as he was considered one inch too short as LB in 1981.
In 1982, we fell in love with a Bethune Cookman Player who was a  great physical specimen who could not play football in Booker Reese. He did not even know how to line up in a pro stance.

Well to be fair to the Bucs, we are 80 picks in and no one else seems to think Moss is as good as all the draft nerds seemed to think.
