No one talks about it when they play well

While I agree, the play calling in that 3rd and inches was bad. They should gave run a QB sneak and if they didn't get it on 3rd down, run another one on 4th.
  2. Joe Thomas said it best when talking about offensive lineman(specifically OT). He said they go up against elite pass rushers every offensive snap. They can go 65 plays and play well, then get beat on one play and that's the play the fans remember. For all who maybe didnt get to watch the game Saturday, I would say find a copy of the game and just watch the the pocket every time Winston dropped back. He often had a perfectly clean pocket to operate in. They also opened some nice holes in the running game. The 3 sacks given up, 2 were caused frol Winston holding the ball waaay too long and another on a heavy blitz. I still think adding a young stud OT to take over for Dotson is needed. But this narrative all year about poor oline play is mostly just made up bullshit. Fantastic game Saturday that no one will talk about. I've seen a lot of progress with this group. I've seen much better coaching.

Merry Christmas buddy. I think that would be fantastic, but the Bucs need to resign Barrett, pay Winston, maybe rework a contract for JPP and/or Suh. Funny thing is that Castonzo IMO is one of the top 3 best LTs in football. Yet Barrett and JPP were constantly puttting pressure on Berset that game. That's the type of game the Yuc fans would be calling for him to be cut. I can't see them spending money on a high end FA OT. I believe they will draft a OT and a center this year (replacement for Dotson and eventual replacement for Jensen). I doubt they spend much money on FAs (other than their own). I could see a vet S/CB signed. If Suh leaves, maybe a low end DT. I could be totally wrong, but that's how I see it. Now if they decide not to bring Winston back (highly unlikely), then that could change things.

True. Dotson has never been a good run blocker and has gotten worse as he's aged. He has even admitted to not liking to run block. Cappa has been in and out with injuries all year. Jensen has grit but lacks much athleticism. I'd love to see them draft a physical RT that can run block. Then later draft a center/ guard. Jensen should be approached for a redo of his contract. He is set to make 10 mil this year with no dead money.
  5. For me, this was maybe his most impressive game as a pro. He was without his all pro WR, LT and lost both Godwin and Miller. He spread the ball around, was decisive and made one bad throw. He should be given a new deal. I hope I was wrong and he becomes the man. UB..please tell me where to mail your gift card Merry Xmas

    Melvin Gordon

Melvin Gordon's stat line today against that vaunted Raiders defense. 9 carries 15 yards 1.7 ypc He's had 1 one hundred yard game this year and has averaged 3.8 ypc.

    Melvin Gordon

    Seriously?
  9. They held a very good Texans offense to really one drive. They held Hopkins to season low 23 yards. They held Hyde to 1.7 yards per carry. They were constantly in Watson's face with pressure and if it wasn't for his great scrambling ability, they would've had even more than the 5 sacks they got. They overcame the fact that everytime they forced a punt or created a TO, Winston gave it right back. These defense is growing every week and it's fun to watch. Any who babbles on about how things haven't changed, must not be watching or only partly watching or not have much time to watch or not willing to pay to watch...or..nevermind

    The defense was spectacular

Yes. See the topic at hand.

So, Compared to a Year Ago Today

Find a single post where I said he was "likely a future Hall of Famer" Now you're going to break down the play of an offensive lineman, when you dont even watch the games .err parts of them? What a joke. Since it doesn't exist, I will save you your time, we all know how precious it is. And who the fuck spends their very limited time posting on a team forum when they don't even watch the fucking games and clearly dislike the team. I've been critical of Winston, you just hate him. Sorry bud, but you come off as one miserable person.

So, Compared to a Year Ago Today

Was addressing the ones who claim to have not "seen" any progress, then say the dont actually watch the games. Those same people who "dont have time to watch", yet always find time to post in here when they lose. Yep those people are..fucks.

A look ahead at the draft

I sure hope you're right. Overhyped player, who I watched whiff too many tackles and had some struggles in the passing game. I think there are other less hyped safeties in this draft that are going to be better players. I'd rather see them get a vet safety and let Whitehead, Evans and Edwards compete. OL should be the pick IMO. A player to keep an eye on is Isaiah Clemmons. The guy is a freak of an athlete and can line up all over the field. He can play OLBer and rush the passer, safety and cover TEs and RBs, and he can be used as a blitzer. He is the type of player who Bowles would love to get his hands on for his defense.

So, Compared to a Year Ago Today

I'm sorry, but if you fucks can't see improvement, then you clearly have no clue about what you're watching (or not watching). I'm not saying they SHOULD have gotten those calls against the, won the coin toss, made the FG..my point is they were in just about every game this year and have improved a ton as defense loaded with young players. If you can't see that, maybe you should try watching the games and maybe inviting someone over to watch with you so they can explain to you what you're watching.

So, Compared to a Year Ago Today

The Bucs are 7-7, a missed FG against the Giants, blown call against the Titans and a coin flip away in Seattle. 10-4. Zero games this year where they were blown out, a young defense that is turning the corner, 2 All Pro WRs... Yeah nothing has changed. Some folks just sound like miserable people.

So, Compared to a Year Ago Today

I can't take anyone serious who dosen't watch the games...yet they post in here. Makes no sense. And please cut me the "I don't have time" line of bullshit. They have this new technology called DVR. You can watch a 3 hour game in about 20 mins. GTFO

    Winston was spectacular

I'm being as honest as I can be about Winston. No sarcasm when I give him credit for playing well. I would still not hand him a large, long term deal. I would opt to give him a 2-3 year deal that allows the Bucs to move on if he can't win games next year and doesn't clean up the games like the Panthers 2nd game. He ain't perfect, but since when have the Bucs had perfect at QB? If the Bucs could draft someone like Burrow, then I'd say move on with someone who is younger, and possibly better and you have him on a rookie year for 4 years. But there isn't anyone to draft where they will be drafting that is like that. Next week he is playing against a team in the Texans who are fighting for their playoff lives. He will be doing so without 2 of the best WRs in football and guys that he has develop his timing with. If he can play another solid game, then I would think he has shown enough (probably already has) to have earned the right to be the starting QB next year, albeit a long- term deal, shot term deal or one year franchise tag.

    Winston was spectacular

A made FG against the Giants (as well as not melting down on defense in the 2nd half) and a defense that was a little more seasoned against Seattle and this team is sitting at 9-5. This team can win with Winston next year if they add a few pieces (OT, S, RB). If they move on from Winston, I'm just not sure who they can get. Maybe someone that throws fewer picks, but also doesn't make as many plays.

    Winston was spectacular

He is the QB of the number ONE passing offense in the league. He threw for over 450 yards and 4 TDs with 107 QB rating last week against a solid Colts defense What he did yesterday on the road using 3rd, 4th, 5th string WRs and another who was just called up, was pretty darn impressive.

    Winston was spectacular

He's a stud who does stupid shit at times. If there is a way to structure a 3 year deal where the Bucs could walk away after next season, that would be ideal. There isn't a better FA option, they wont be able to draft Burrow, and maybe, just maybe, a full offseson with BA and Leftwich can help him eliminate a few turnovers. The guy just threw for almost 1,000 yards and 8 TDs in two games. I've been his biggest critic and justifiably so. And it has been because of his decision making and his accuracy issues. But this year his accuracy has improved on his deep passes. He still needs to eliminate the 3-4 turnover games, but will always be a higher INT guy. 3 year deal with a way to get out after a year, would be ideal.
  21. Donavon Smith- some of the most informed love to hate this guy. Maybe because he protects the blindside for a QB who throws the ball more often than anyone else in the league and also holds the ball longer than most. Yet, all he does is play solid ball and rarely misses a snap. Buc fans got a glimpse of what life without Smith at LT looks like. As soon Smith went out, Justin Houston got to Winston. Smith decided to give it a go after seeing Winston take a beating, and was a huge part of the 4th quarter comeback. Godwin- the guy us a stud Perriman- finally contributed in a big way. Not much volume but two huge catches. Howard- the guy is a weapon and needs to be worked into the offense more. Gay- 6 for 6 on FGs and Xtra PTs Davis- the first TD was all on the safety. He did have a miss step in the endzone that allowed a Colts TD. But he also had some really nice pass breakups and the guy can tackle.
  22. Well that's refreshing. I'm guessing Samurai doesn't even watch the all the games and has no clue what he's talking about. A) I never said he was "great" and "going to the hall of fame", but if that somehow makes you feel better about your dumbass take, carry on. B. ) Please name 3 games that he played horribly in this year. I'll wait. I mean the guy isn't good so this shouldn't be difficult. C) ALL Left tackles get beat. Take the LT for the team that throws the ball more than anyone else and who protects a QB who tends to hold the ball longer than any other QB and he's been pretty solid considering that. The fact is there is nothing that I'm saying that isn't true. All the idiotic Yuc fans do is scream like little girls, or dumb rednecks in this case, but don't provide any real examples of their ridiculous takes. IF they landed a STUD, pro bowl LT, and moved Smith to the right side, then great. But please don't whine when that LT gets beat once in every 50 throws or so. It happens to all LTs. I'm just glad the coaches, who probably know a little more about OL play than any of us, agree with me. Smith has been good this year and a far cry from the reason this team isn't sitting at 9-4.
  23. Not to be AN asshole, but does your statement change if I quote the entire thing?
