It is why I disagree that we need new RBs. Ronald Jones and Barber can run the ball if the defense is not hitting them three yards behind the line of scrimmage. On 3rd and 1 with this OL, I would prefer this team would run a QB sneak or pass the ball.

    Indulge me for a moment.
I hate the fuckin' Cowboys. There's no Bucs rival that even comes close for me. I don't like the overly self important owner, their fans, the attention some of their players get for performance not much better, if so, than what we see from the Bucs every week. The team's been mediocre or slightly better for a couple of decades yet we have the pleasure of Fox covering them every possible week they can and if Fox doesn't have them, they're the national game on the other 3 networks which cover the NFL. This means we're forced to listen to Joe Buck, who I'd probably punch in the face if I ever saw him in person. It would have to be with an uppercut because that's the only way I'd reach his tiny ass and Troy Aikman who spends his season slobbering over his former team. Then there's the dope in my office who spends every goddam season, including currently in this one, telling anyone who doesn't simply walk away from him that the Cowboys are "loaded" and going to the Super Bowl.  I'll note that coming into this week that team that everyone is forced to pay attention to and is "loaded" had the same record as the team this board follows and some on this board spend an awful lot of energy criticizing and the Cowboys don't play in a division which has an 11 win team.
Now....the NFL feels compelled to change the coin toss rules to "correct" the fact that their QB can't tell the officials the proper choice when they win the toss. I've coached youth football for a number of years and, believe it or not, 8 to 10 year olds walk to the center of the field every week without a coach and properly tell the referee their choice and I can't recall a mistake being made. As an aside, the NFL never should have stepped in last week when the dipshit Prescott told the referee they wished to kick and then attempted to change it. He made his choice and if a 25 year old can't deliver the same simple answer hundreds if not thousands of elementary, middle school high school and college athletes can coherently tell a referee every weekend, then the NFL doesn't need to step in and save his babbling ass.

I hope the Eagles win today but, because I don't want it to happen, the Cowboys probably will so we'll be stuck with them at least through the wild card weekend.

The score was tied 17-17 when the Bucs made 4 turnovers. When the Bucs were  turnover free until the pick with less than 2 minutes left, they lost 6-3. The evidence is clear. Jameis needed to throw more picks.

They did not call the PI on the Texans but they called holding on Dean. That is pure bullshit double standard.

If you saw last week's game, you know why the Bucs missed Donovan Smith. His replacement got penalized on 2 of the first 3 plays and  could not run block worth crap. I think we have serviceable backs and maybe a bell cow back with Jones but it is never going happen unless we get better at OL. Smith is definitely two levels or move above the backup. The Texans and the Lions weakness has been against the run. The Bucs are crippled at the WR position with two Pro Bowl WRs down. It would be nice to be able to run the ball so the Bucs do not have to be one dimensional with backup WRs.

Suh seems to help the run game but he is not a pass rusher. . The sack he got against Detroit the QB ran into him.  If Suh gets a deal, it will be one year because of his age.  Gholston had a game changing play after the pick by hitting the Lions RB 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage.  He had a couple of tackle for losses.  He might be more valuable than Suh.

Mariota rarely throws picks. He also had a ton of drives that end in punts.
That is why Tannehill has the starting job. Jameis elevates receivers..Humphreys is not nearly the same guy he was in Tampa. Perriman has career bests in TDs and the most yards in a game in the last two games. 82 was his high in yardage and 3 Tds for a season high. In the last 2 weeks had 87 yards and 113 yards this week and 4 TDs.

Plus the down by contact in the Titans game that cancelled a go ahead fumble return TD against the Titans late in the 4th quarter.

When has the Bucs ever had a number 1 passing offense especially this late in the season. We are third in points scored and total yardage. A top 3 offense in points scored and yardage. Unheard for a Buccaneer team. This is a team that tried to win a NFC championship game by a score of 6 to 5.

Out of bounds play was to Jerry Porter. He was out of bounds as he juggled the ball. Certainly not enough to over turn the original call which was incomplete. Even the Raiders radio announcers thought it was incomplete. The Rice TD play was the deep middle play. Lynch was miked by NFL Films for ABC. Lynch was asked by Gruden what happened on the play. Lynch was matter of fact about it. "Nate just has to get deep." If Quarles is still in the game, that play does not happen.

Brad Johnson on the old SPT board was not as popular as you imagine until season's end. Brad had a weak preseason. FSUBUC fan was positive it was only a matter of time before Rob Johnson would take over. Rob Johnson's win against Randy Faisiani plus the one quarter he played against Green Bay when Brad's eye was scratched convinced the Rob Johnson faction that they were wrong. Snook led the Shaun King faction. King came in for Rob Johnson on one play when Rob Johnson in the Carolina win over Randy Faisani and completed a pass to Karl Williams for 7 yards that made the winning FG easier. You would have thought he was the greatest QB of all time.
King was being touted as the savior. Then Brad missed the last two games of the season as his back was hurt. Shaun King got the MNF start against Pittsburgh. His second play from scrimmage after the Steelers scored a TD, King threw a pick 6. He was 9/26 for 73 yards. Rob Johnson came off the bench and threw a meaningless garbage time TD. It was the only TD those two backups threw in 3 starts. Rob won his two starts with 9 FGs 12-9 and 15-0. King lost his only start. By playoff time, everyone was united behind by Brad Johnson. All the Brad Johnson haters had to shut up.

Kyle Trask is getting his masters degree and may have another year of eligibility due to past injuries. The guy played well for being considered a nobody. He is not great but he is very solid. I was very impressed with Trask given the circumstances he was in when he had to start.
