Adams is a new addition to the list this week after suffering his knee injury in New York, and Crabtree remains sidelined after not even making the trip north last weekend. However, the other three listings on the Bucs' report all represent improvements from last week. Carl Nicks is cleared of his infection and ready to focus on football, thankfully. Melvin, as mentioned, is improving. And FB Erik Lorig has taken another step forward after practicing only in a limited fashion last week.

Just talked to G Carl Nicks, who was limited in practice today and hopes to play vs. the Saints.
Nicks says cultures and blood tests have determined he is MRSA free.
Nicks: "I am M-R-S-A clear. Clear and free.''

Carl Nicks says he's completely clear of his infection. Further, the toe injury that previously had him out is not bothering him anymore.
Nicks says the toe injury is "not even an issue at all." Wouldn't wish that infection on anyone, but time off his feet surely helped the toe.

Crabtree is out. Lorig is back. Carimi could start at left Guard to fill in for Nicks.
Martin is ready
Coach Greg Schiano said Monday it was 'too early to tell,' whether Nicks will be available for the regular season opener against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. That means the Bucs may have to pick from three players -- Gabe Carimi, Jamon Meredith and Ted Larsen -- to fill Nicks' spot although none of them would list guard as their primary position.
Carimi, who was acquired in a trade with the Chicago Bears in June, took reps at left guard with the first team during the install period of practice Monday.
“Well, we have guys on our roster on the offensive line, we’ll choose one of them,'' Schiano said. "They all can play guard. One of them will end up being the starting guard if Carl can’t play.''
The Bucs have not explored the option that worked best when Nicks went down with a season-ending injury to his plantar plate: moving center Jeremy Zuttah from center to left guard and starting Larsen at center.
“It’s always an option because we’ve done it,'' Schiano said. "I wouldn’t say that’s the way we’re going to go or it’s not the way we’re going to go. Right now we just have to get the best five on the field. We’ll evaluate that when we know definitely about Carl.'' http://www.tampabay....us-iffy/2139607
Jets starting to like their chances?

As we expected, Santonio has been readying for regular season football and we expect he’ll be playing against the Bucs next weekend, potentially matched up on Revis. That is fine, because that leaves Stephen Hill and/or Jeremy Kerley against some sort of Leonard Johnson / Dashon Goldson matchup. Johnson ranked out as the 120th best cornerback in the 2013 preseason and while he’ll benefit from Revis, there’s room for the Jets to take advantage http://thejetsblog.com/
Bucs waived LB Ka'lial Glaud, S Cody Grimm, P Chas Henry, DT Lazarius Levingston, DT Matthew Masifilo, DT Andre Neblett, TE Danny Noble, S Sean Baker, CB Deveron Carr, T Jace Daniels, LB Dom DeCicco, LS Andrew DePaola, K Derek Dimke, WR David Douglas, WR Chris Owusu, T Mike Remmers, CB Mason Robinson, C/G Cody Wallace.
Terminated the contracts of G Roger Allen, DT Gary Gibson, WR Jordan Norwood
